The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena is a 15,000 seat multi-purpose arena in Jacksonville, Florida. It is home to the Jacksonville Barracudas ice hockey franchise, and the Jacksonville Sports Hall of Fame. Built in 2003 to replace the outdated Jacksonville Memorial Coliseum the arena was designed, using state-of-the-art techniques, to have the acoustical characteristics necessary for concerts. It also serves as a multi-functional entertainment venue. The Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena has hosted events such as 2006 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Elton John, NFL Super Bowl Concert Series, and is the future host of the 2010 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Jacksonville Jam of the American Basketball Association will begin playing there in 2008. The arena is also home to the Jacksonville University Dolphins men's basketball team. See their website for scheduled events and ticket information.
